As a therapist you already know the many benefits of bi-lateral stimulation or "tapping." With BLAST (bi-lateral alternating stimulation tactile) embedded in wireless TouchPoints devices, you can elevate your practice and/or offer bi-lateral stimulation as a tool for your patients in-home use!
Wired tappers such as the Theratappers or Neurotek devices are bulky and require constant changes of battery. TouchPoints are wireless, offer different speeds, and are recharged simply by plugging in the included micro-USB cable.
Many therapists around the world use TouchPoints™ in their offices, for themselves, and encourage their clients to use them as a adjunct to in-office treatments.
TouchPoints do not have to be in hands or touching skin. TouchPoints™ work in pockets, socks, or even clipped to clothing. So now you can work with your patients while their hands are free if you’d like.
Concerned about dissociation? In 2018 alone, people have reached for TouchPoints over 1 Million times in non-therapeutic settings as a general stress reducer with no reported incidences of increased dissociation.
The patent-pending BLAST technology in TouchPoints is backed by decades of scientific and academic research on bilateral stimulation that shows significant reduction in stress with use. As the image below depicts, TouchPoints' BLAST technology rapidly reduces excess beta wave activity in the brain which is associated with stress.
"I use TouchPoints in session to relax my clients and help them access and share information that otherwise they wouldn't. My clients are able to put the TouchPoints in their pockets while drawing or moving. I have some clients wear the TouchPoints at home throughout the day and turn them on during a stressful time for calming and soothing. Some will put them on prior to times that are stressful for them."
"For the last 24 hours, I have been exploring TouchPoints, and I am impressed, on several levels. Obviously, you have taken the well-known EMDR bi-lateral stimulation idea to some interesting new places. I was trained in EMDR (Levels 1 &2) in 1994 by Francine Shapiro herself. I was involved with Bob Yourell with the first serious effort to develop (and to some extent, market) bi-lateral sound in 1995. So, the idea is not new to me. And yet, I am taken by the elegance and clinical power of your approach. Starting tomorrow, I will be using this technology with appropriate clients and I will be writing up my thoughts and observations soon. Suffice it to say, the field was foolish, back in the mid 90s. not to follow up on the realization that the power of programmable somatic/tactile bi-lateral stimulation was superior to all other modalities."
"I attended the workshop on Sunday 10/21 with Dr. Sarin at the ISNR conference. I purchased a basic unit. In walking into the office Monday morning, the billing staff was observably distressed so I offered her use of the new units. She rated her SUDS as an "8". In the time it took me to clock in (2 minutes tops), her distress level dropped to a 4. In another few minutes, it was reduced to a 1 and she exclaimed: "Now my head is clear, I can focus on my work". My first appointment for the day at 8 am was a 71 year old Vietnam War Veteran with severe PTSD, past hospitalizations for PTSD at the VA, and a pattern of showing up at the clinic about once a year in acute distress then not following through with any treatment recommendations. While he was describing his current inability to sleep and intense anger, I offered him the touchpoints to hold. After a few minutes of talking, his eyes drooped and he reported: "I feel very calm, like I could sleep". We then arranged for him to take the set home and he was instructed on how to use and charge the units. Today, he came for a follow up appointment, reported sound sleep for 6.5 hours, and asked if he could continue to use the touchpoint units at home. He was also interested in pursuing other treatment options to supplement the TouchPoints, such as neurofeedback and neurotherapy. Needless to say, these results were promising and we are hoping to order more units: one for each therapist and several for loaning to clients as needed."
"I use these in my therapy practice now (I’m a psychologist) and have had multiple clients buy them for themselves after having wonderful results in my office. They are a wonderful product, especially for some of my PTSD clients."
"I ordered one pair to use with a client with anxiety. I had 2 adult staff people try them to give me feedback and get a baseline. They both reported increased focus, reduced anxiety and more energy at the end of a busy day. I am definitely ordering another."
